Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your MyBenchBook and MyWB account (apps by Sebastiano Solito, MyBenchSpace) and the related data. The account is shared by the two apps.

From the app

MyBenchBook

Settings → Account → Delete account, then choose:

• Only MyBenchBook data: deletes from our servers your synced notebooks, their files and MyBenchBook's counters. The account and MyWB stay.
• The whole account: deletes the account and the data of both apps on our servers.

MyWB

Settings → Account → Delete account: deletes the account (for MyBenchBook too) and, on that device, the MyWB experiments saved with that account.

Without the app

Write to support@mybenchspace.app from your account's email address, with the subject "Delete my account", saying whether you want to delete everything or only MyBenchBook data. For your security we may ask you to confirm. We complete the deletion within 30 days and reply when it's done.

What is deleted

• Account data: email, password, first and last name, nationality, plan and apps used.
• For MyBenchBook: notebooks, experiments and protocols synced to the cloud, and AI credit counts. Synced attached files are deleted immediately if you delete from the MyBenchBook app, otherwise within 30 days.
• Database backups are overwritten by the provider in the following days.

What stays

• Data saved on your device: MyBenchBook notebooks stay on your phone or computer (delete them from the library or by uninstalling the app). In MyWB, experiments saved as a guest stay.
• Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel them. Cancel from the App Store settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
• Data the law requires us to keep, for example tax records of purchases, for the required period.
